How To Stay Sassy And Warm This Winter | Part 1

As a fashion blogger living through my coldest winter yet, I am still stubbornly refusing to let the subzero temperatures affect my sartorial choices...well, not too much anyway. I have not invested in a unflattering puffer jacket nor will I be donning my feet with ugly snow boots any time soon and guess what? I am surviving. So with this thought constantly on my mind, I thought I would create a little series with tips on how I am staying warm in style this winter in Montreal.

There is no doubt about it that dresses and skirts are out of the question for the next few months - even I am not committed enough to having dangerously numb legs and a draft wooshing up between my thighs - so jeans and wool tailored trousers are my winter uniform, with tights or leggings underneath, of course. These jeans have a rather large knee rip, which, if left unattended, would allow for more wooshing so I added some fishnets tights for a little warmth and an extra detail.

See, today's outfit - even though it is quite simply a jeans and jumper combo - is all about the details. These days I am living in turtlenecks and layering this stripy one underneath my new beloved &Other Stories jumper adds that bit of interest while keeping my neck warm.

Accessories are a great way to spice up any look and during colder months we have even more options, with all the scarves, gloves and hats that are unavoidable in a Canadian winter. I have had this incredible leopard print faux fur bucket-style hat for a few years now and it is the softest and cosiest hat ever. Plus I am hitting two keys winter trends and feeling super sassy while doing so - win win. Finally, if all else fails, a statement lip can bring any winter outfit from boring to striking and it's pretty effortless too. Luckily MAC's Diva shade perfectly matches my cherry red Dr Martens boots, which are currently the only suitable thing I own for foot-deep snow.

YouTube: What I'm Packing For Canada

Hello huns,

I apologise profusely that things have been a bit quite on the blog this week. It has been rather hectic because ya know, I am moving to Canada today! That's right - as this post goes live, I am on my way to Gatwick to catch my flight to Montreal. Of course I have been living abroad in Europe for the past few years but moving to Canada definitely feels like a bigger step! I am feeling all sorts of emotions right now from excitement, hope and pride to sadness, fear and everything else in between.

So I thought it was fitting to do a video to mark this special day, bringing together my two passions - fashion and travel - and show you what I am packing for Canada. I can tell you that it has been pretty bloody hard - especially as a fashion blogger - to pack my rather sizeable wardrobe down into just two suitcases. But I have managed it and I always have the excuse to buy even more clothes over in Montreal.

Cafe Review: Anti-Café

Yesterday afternoon, I met my best babe Anna for a tea and cake at a cute little place tucked away in the middle of Paris. This is Anti Café, a space for working, studying, sharing, playing and creating where you pay for the time that you spend there, not what you consume. 

You can just help yourself to as many hot and cold drinks, snacks and cakes to your heart's desire. There's wifi, board games and books as well as printers and scanners that you can use too. It costs just 4€ for an hour in the space, 16€ for the day. This gem is very popular and we were lucky to get a seat among the young crowd tapping away on their computers and scribbling ideas into notebooks.

Hier après-midi, j'ai pris un thé avec ma copine Anna dans un lieu très mignon, caché dans le centre de Paris. C'est Anti Café, une espace pour travailler, étudier, partager, jouer et créer où vous payez pour le montant de temps que vous y passez, pas ce que vous consumez. 

Il y a des boissons chaudes et froides, des snacks et des gateaux qui sont illimités ainsi que du wifi, des jeux de société, des livres et des imprimantes. Il coût juste 4€ pour une heure, 16€ pour un jour. Cette perle caché est tellement populaire et on a eu de la chance de trouver deux chaises parmi des jeunes qui tapent sur leurs ordinateurs et gribouillent dans des cahiers.
