Quai aux Fleurs

Vintage sheepskin coat (similar here) / Vintage denim shirt (similar here) / H&M white crop / ASOS ripped jeans / Tights unknown (similar here) / Doc Martens shoes / Vintage hat (similar here)
Location: Quai aux Fleurs, 75004 Paris

Ripped jeans, a simple crop and an open, oversized denim shirt has quickly become my go-to outfit on mornings which see my wardrobe half-emptied onto my bed and me still not knowing what to wear (ahem, most mornings…). I have also been practically living in this cuddly vintage sheepskin coat due to this recent freezing weather. Lucky for me, the seventies trend is in full swing so this coat can do all the talking on the outside whilst I feel all cosy inside. Win, win.

To add a bit of detail (as well as warmth), I'm wearing fishnet flowery tights under my jeans, something I am obsessed with at the moment. To complete the look, I grabbed this great trilby hat and we're good to go.

---

MaxMara coat (c/o my friend Aliya) / Vintage striped jumper / Monki jeans / Adidas Stan Smith trainers / Topshop beanie (old, similar here)
Location: Pont Notre Dame, Paris

For a long time I have searching for the perfect classic black and oversized Parisian coat. I am still searching and this utter beaut featured here is my friend Aliya's, which I borrowed at the weekend when she was visiting. To say I am jealous is an understatement and having now tried it on and worn it for a day, it's safe to say I could cry myself to sleep at night over it not being mine.

Anyway, I am glad I could finally shoot this classic Parisian look, despite not having found my black coat of dreams. So basically all else you need to slip perfectly into a gaggle of Parisiennes is black jeans, a striped top and comfy Stan Smiths. This look is so effortless and chic at the same time it can be one of the hardest and easiest to pull off. Does that even make sense? It does in my head...

---

Sailor

Vintage rain coat / ASOS ripped jeans / Vintage striped top / Dr Martens shoes / eBay rings
Location: Archives Nationales, 3rd arrondissement Paris

It has finally happened. I have found the perfect yellow rain coat for a wee price in my vintage shop and I am over the moon. I took it out for a spin on Sunday whilst wandering round a rather wet Paris before heading to the Centre Pompidou for a modern art fix. I love that the coat is reversible so that on dry days the blue canvas side creates a completely different look.

Today, I went for the full on sailor look and rocked this great striped top (yes another turtleneck, I have a problem), a recent thrift find for just 1€. I am quite late to the ripped jeans party but I finally bought a pair from ASOS with a birthday voucher and I love them! They make an outfit that bit more interesting and grungy.

---

The Best of 2014

Here are some of my favourite outfits from 2014 and what a year it has been! I have loved making the most of beautiful Paris for backdrops of photos and I was given a lovely new camera lens for Christmas so I'm hoping to be improving even more the photos on the blog. I have had a great time with my blog this year, collaborating with some great brands, especially reporting from Paris Fashion Weeks and Glastonbury Festival for Motel Rocks. I am looking forward to what 2015 might hold! Happy New Year!

Masculine Vibes

Vintage trousers (similar here) / Vintage coat (similar here) / H&M striped jumper / Adidas Stan Smith trainers / Mac So Chaud lipstick
Location: backstreets of Montmartre, Paris

For ages I have been looking for a oversized yet flattering pair of tailored masculine trousers and I have finally found them! I love the dark grey colour, which makes them really easy to wear and they're so comfortable! I paired them with a relaxed yet very Parisian striped cropped jumper and my go to mint green coat to give the outfit a bit of colour. My Stan Smiths are perfect for a casual winter stroll around the backstreet of Montmartre and the Sacre Cœur where these photos were shot.

Hope everyone is not struggling too much with the cold! I definitely need to invest in some new coats and boots…oh dear (!)…watch this space.

Pink Coat

Vintage pink coat (similar here) / Vintage Levi jeans / Topshop faux fur scarf (old - similar here) / Adidas Stan Smith trainers
Location: Tempelhof Park, Berlin

As soon as I saw this gorgeous pink coat in my shop, I knew it had to be mine. I absolutely love the colour and the oversized shape. It was my coat of choice to my recent weekend break to Berlin, where I thought an abandoned wartime airport-cum-youth hangout was the perfect place to take some blog photos. I mean just look how amazing this park is! It felt so liberating to prance around on an old runway, knowing that decades ago huge aeroplanes would have been landing right where I was standing!

Casual Weekend

Grandma knitted jumper / Topshop jeans / ASOS leather jacket (old - similar here) / Vintage shawl / Stan Smith Adidas trainers / Pebbles & Chance ring
Location: Saint-Germain-en-Laye

I don't know about you but for me this weekend was all about jeans, jumpers and being super comfy. I have been meaning to show off this beautiful jumper ever since I started this little blog and finally here it is, shot in all its glory in the cute Parisian suburb of Saint-Germain-en-Laye. This jumper, made of gorgeous denim wool, is very special to me, not just because my Grandma knitted it for me, but because she actually started it when I was 8 years old and only got round to finish it for Christmas 2012! It makes you realise how quickly time flies and that it important to keep on top of projects. I have had a bit of a writer's block recently, which is why it has been a bit quiet here but I've got lots of posts planned!

This outfit also features my two favourite purchases from my recent trip to Berlin (post to follow). Let's take a moment to admire my amazing vintage shawl/scarf that I bought in Humana second hand store in Berlin for just 6€. It keeps me so warm and I just love the tassels! I am also so pleased with my circle ring purchase from a stall at Mauerpark flea market. I have been looking to extend my ring collection and Pebbles & Chance had a great selection - check them out!

Stay happy and keep motivated guys :)

Lace Flares

Vintage lace flares / eBay top / Doc Martens shoes / Ray Bans sunglasses / Mac So Chaud lipstick
Location: Port de Tolbiac

As soon as I saw these black lace flares, it was love. They have such a flattering shape with a tight high waist and the flare starting right at the top of the legs. Such a unique yet bang on trend piece, which is always exactly what I want.

I discovered this shoot location when Lewis and I walked the length of the Seine within Paris last Saturday. Crazy I know. This was where we started our 9 mile walk across the city and I just loved the industrial yet calm feel. It was deserted except for a young guy in a smart get-up featuring braces and a peak cap practising scales on the saxophone, adorable.

Gingham Trousers

Vintage gingham trousers (similar here) / H&M top (old) / Doc Martens shoes / Topshop belt (old - similar here) / Mac So Chaud lipstick
Location: Pont de Bercy, Paris

I am really into the tailored trousers look at the moment so I was overjoyed when I found these perfect gingham pair where I work. Gingham is one of my favourite prints and it is very versatile for winter and summer. I imagine it can be quite annoying that most of the clothes that I feature are vintage so I am going to try and find you guys high street equivalents where possible. Motel Rocks do a great pair of gingham trousers, which I had been eyeing up for a while, and you can get 20% off at Motel by using code izzie_h at the checkout!

I absolutely loved shooting in this location, on a bridge underneath an overground metro line. I love the depth of field created by the tunnel behind me. What do you think?
