Pink Coat

Vintage pink coat (similar here) / Vintage Levi jeans / Topshop faux fur scarf (old - similar here) / Adidas Stan Smith trainers
Location: Tempelhof Park, Berlin

As soon as I saw this gorgeous pink coat in my shop, I knew it had to be mine. I absolutely love the colour and the oversized shape. It was my coat of choice to my recent weekend break to Berlin, where I thought an abandoned wartime airport-cum-youth hangout was the perfect place to take some blog photos. I mean just look how amazing this park is! It felt so liberating to prance around on an old runway, knowing that decades ago huge aeroplanes would have been landing right where I was standing!

The Jean of Dreams

Vintage Levi jeans / Vintage top / Boutique backpack / New Look sandals
Location: Port d'Arsenal

I have finally found my perfect pair of Levi vintage jeans. Life complete. Just a casual transitional outfit for a Saturday stroll by the canal. These mirrored windows were pretty fun to pose by, I love shooting in different and unique areas and Paris is full of them.

Paris Vintage Shopping - Le Marais

Paris is the best city for vintage shopping that I've ever been to. This is not because of the sheer volume of vintage shops in the French capital - as London probably boasts just as many - no, it is the cheap prices that you just do not find anywhere else.

Kilo Shop Vintage shopping in Le Marais Paris
Kilo Shop Vintage shopping in Le Marais Paris
Kilo Shop Vintage shopping in Le Marais Paris
Kilo Shop - 69-71 rue de la Verrerie
There are several Kilo Shops around Paris and I work for the first and the biggest one on rue de la Verrerie in the Marais. The concept is that you buy clothes by weight. Each item has a certain colour tag which corresponds to a different price per kilo, for example: red is 20€/kg, greenand yellow are 30€/kg and orange is 60€/kg. This means you can get some absolute bargains! It also means, especially with the orange tag, that some items can be expensive. There are also fixed price items such as fur coats which start at €89, bags and accessories and the renewal vintage range called ‘Culture Vintage’. There is loads of choice and it is a great shop! I’m not just biased, honest!

Other locations:
- 65 rue de la Verrerie
- 125 boulevard Saint Germain
- 39 boulevard Saint Michel
- 63 rue de Passy

Coiffeur Vintage shopping in Le Marais Paris
Coiffeur Vintage shopping in Le Marais Paris
Coiffeur/Vintage Désir - 32 rue des Rosiers
The smallest and probably the most famous vintage shop inParis. Situated on the bustling rue des Rosiers (also known for its collectionof falafel restaurants), this shop is just fab. All year round there is a great selection of dresses, patterned jumpers, denim shirts, dungarees, shorts, skirts and bags. There is a good men’s section too. I would say that most things don’t cost more than €10 unless you are buying a jacket but even then you’ll be getting a bargain. If you can, go during the week because this tiny shop gets very busy at the weekend.

Free 'P' Star Vintage shopping in Le Marais Paris
Free 'P' Star Vintage shopping in Le Marais Paris
Free ‘P’ Star - 61 rue de la Verrerie
I always say it is all part of the joy of vintage shoppingto rummage for real gems amongst pile of rubbish and this is one of the main draws of Free ‘P’ Star and its 1€ bins. They also sell a selection of leather and denim shorts for €10 a piece and faux and real fur coats with prices ranging from €10 to €100 or more. Free ‘P’ Star has three shops in the Marais, each within about five minutes walk from each other.

Other locations:
- 52 rue de la Verrerie
- 20 rue de Rivoli

Hippy Market Vintage shopping in Le Marais Paris
Hippy Market Vintage shopping in Le Marais Paris

Hippy Market is part of the same group as Kilo Shop so it sells the same great range of clothes but everything is more expensive. So, if you are looking for good quality and well-presented vintage, shop either here or Kilo Shop!

The King of Frip Vintage shopping in Le Marais Paris
The King of Frip Vintage shopping in Le Marais Paris
The King of Frip - 33 rue du Roi de Sicile

A rather hit and miss shop to be honest. I have found some real bargains in The King of Frip over the years but recently some of their prices seem to have shot up. Coats, furs and dresses are quite expensive but you can still find denim shorts, shirts and bags for about €10, which is pretty cheap.

Other vintage shops in the area:
- Vintage Le Bar - 16 rue de la Verrerie (for high end and designer vintage)
- Come on Eileen - 38 rue de Rivoli

90s Throwback

It is inevitable that trends come back into fashion again and again. When I started wearing skinny jeans or “drainpipes” in the noughties, my parents could remember the last time they were in fashion, but this time I remember the trend from the first time around. Let the nostalgia begin as we all go back to the 90s.

This outfit is my slightly more modern take on a 90s look. I think these jeans look great with a platform/creeper shoe and the crop top makes the jeans look less bulky. I bought these Levi jeans off eBay last summer after being inspired by watching re-runs of old Friends episodes. Rachel, Monica and Phoebe are wearing, in the early episodes, exactly what is in fashion now including jeans like these, check and crop shirts, loose tops, and lots and lots of denim.

Denim

As you can see, I am obsessed with denim. It is such a versatile material and goes with everything – except for maybe itself. Although it was done in the 90s and some think they can pull it off now, I cannot say that I am a fan of double denim. Denim was certainly big in the 90s and its popularity in recent years I welcome with open arms.

Doc Martens

Doc Martens were the shoe of choice in the 90s if you were a teenager listening to grunge. They were also the shoe of choice for a certain 6 year old; me. I was so in love with my pair of red patent Docs that I had a few pairs of them over my childhood! This winter my love for Doc Martens was revived and I bought some lookalike cheap ones from Topshop. But I am definitely going to be investing in either black patent or maroon DMs for next winter!

Platforms

Flatforms - Superga

Platforms, flatforms, creepers; whatever you want to call them they were a massive 90s trademark and who were their pioneers, the great Spice Girls. Now, they're back and everyone is loving it.

Accessories

This is slightly a strange mix of essential 90s accessories but it can be random which trends make a come back. Scrunchies have been available in some of the high street shops for about a year now and I have seen these tattoo style bracelets on some people last time I was in London. Both are cute and quirky additions to outfits.

What I really love about the 90s throwback is how a top end designer like Chanel has got involved. My friend Gina, who describes herself as a “total Chanel devotee”, recently tried out Chanel’s new coloured mascaras...

...and gave me her thoughts:

Originally I thought it would be unwearable, but now that summer is finally here, adding a little bit of light blue to your lower lashes instantly brightens the eyes. Definitely a fun addition to your make-up bag, and a great way to refresh your make-up for the summer!”

Although I haven’t tried Chanel’s mascaras yet, I completely agree. Adding a bit of colour to your eyes is a great look for festivals and summer parties.

What do you think of the 90s revival trend?
