YouTube: Glastonbury Festival 2016 Vlog

Happy Sunday! If you have been keeping up to date on this blog or on my INSTAGRAM, you will know that last weekend I was at Glastonbury Festival! It is such an incredible and inspiring place that I just had to vlog my five days in a field. Check out what I got up to and who I saw over a weekend filled with love, music and alotta mud.

Sassy Sixties | Glastonbury Festival Outfit 2

Body - PRIMARK (in store), Skirt - old URBAN OUTFITTERS (SIMILAR), Leather jacket - old ASOS (SIMILAR), Choker - ASOS, Sunglasses - ASOS, Wellies - HUNTER
Location: Paines Ground, Glastonbury Festival

Well I must admit that I felt pretty sassy in this sixties get-up on Saturday of Glastonbury. Everyone knows that when it comes to festival dressing, sparkles and denim are absolute essentials so I decided to throw them together for what is definitely my favourite outfit of the weekend.

If you read Monday's ULTIMATE NINETIES GLASTONBURY OUTFIT POST, you will notice two trends. Firstly, I took serious inspiration from two of my favourite fashion eras - nineties and now sixties - and secondly, the key pieces in both outfits came from Primark. I have not shopped in Primark for a long time but when I arrived back from Barcelona with nada to wear to Glastonbury I took a trip to the queen of bargains and picked up a few things including this amazing low cut sparkly body. I was drawn to it like a moth to a flame and I knew instantly that it would be the perfect amount of understated sass that I was looking for. Paired with a button down denim mini, some statement sunglasses and of course a choker I was ready to tackle the mud in style.

Also, kudos to me for remembering to French plait my hair the night before to ensure I had the perfect retro 'do' to match my outfit. Thank you, thank you very much.

P.S. Please excuse and ignore the England flags in the background. This was not deliberate and I am very upset with England right now because of Brexit. Europe, I love you X

Ultimate Nineties | Glastonbury Festival Outfit 1

Dress - PRIMARK, T-shirt - secondhand (SIMILAR), Choker - ASOS, Backpack - unknown (SIMILAR), Wellies - HUNTER
Location: West Holts Stage, Glastonbury Festival 2016

If you dragged yourself away from the horrific drama of last week's EU referendum result (more on that another time, I think), you will know that one of the wettest and muddiest Glastonbury Festivals took place this weekend. Despite my windswept and muddy appearance - these were seriously the worst conditions for shooting in - I still wanted to share with you one of my favourite festival outfits to date - this amazing nineties look styled around this incredible slip dress.

I have always been a fan of leopard print and this is one that Pat Butcher certainly would be caught dead in. However, I think it is just the most amazing print for this nineties style slip dress, which, layered over a white t-shirt and accessorised with a black choker and backpack, just makes for the perfect nineties festival look.

This dress is super comfortable, which is always a winner at festivals and it sits perfectly just above the knee for your muddy wellies and knee high socks. By headliner time, just add a leather jacket and you are good to go for the rest of the night!

A Slip Dress for Summer

Motel Rocks dress (c/o) / Converse trainers / Topshop tattoo choker / Ray Ban sunglasses

Those of you who follow me on Instagram will recognise this dress from my Glastonbury festival photos where I was Motel's Festival Reporter. I chose this lovely turquoise gingham slip dress from Motel's fab summer collection to wear to the festival. And here it is in all its glory on a little outing to Versailles on one of the hottest days of the year. Slip dresses are perfect for summer thanks to their light material and loose fit and this one is no exception. Plus I love gingham so it's just win win really.

Transparent shirt

Vintage Levis Shorts / Vintage bralet / Vintage shirt / Doc Marten boots

I've been rocking this outfit a lot recently in the hot Parisian sun.* I love this transparent shirt because I can wear little underneath but not feel too naked at the same time, which is great as Parisians still wear black jeans and jackets in 25 degree heat!

These photos were taken by my friend Gina whilst she was here for an extended visit! Look out for her making a guest appearance on the blog soon!

*I wrote this post a couple of weeks ago and scheduled it to be posted whilst I was Glastonbury and it didn't happen. It is now cold and rainy in Paris :(

Glastonbury Festival Fashion

Here are a couple of my outfits that I managed to get snapped at Glastonbury in between the mud, rain and storms.

Outfit 1: Vintage crop top and petticoat / Vintage bumbag / Hunter wellies / Topshop long socks
Outfit 2: Gingham slip dress c/o Motel Rocks (get 20% off Motel using code izzie_h)/ Hunter wellies / Asos sunglasses

And here are some of the festival fashion snaps I took as Motel Rocks' festival reporter...

The festival fashion at Glastonbury this year was amazing and has really set the bar for the rest of the festival season. Kimonos and crochet made a big appearance and accessories such as flower crowns, tribal feathered headdresses and chokers were also very popular. Take note if you're going to any festivals during the rest of the summer!

#MotelFestival Wishlist

I have found out that I am going to be Motel Rocks' Festival Reporter at Glastonbury this year! This news just makes me even more excited about my favourite event of the year! To get into spirit of style spotting and outfit creating for the festival season, I have put together a collection of my current favourite Motel items, which are perfect for the festivals!

As a Motel festival reporter I can choose an item to take and wear to Glastonbury but I'm having such a hard time choosing! I absolutely adore this bright, floral unitard and think it would look amazing among the crazy atmosphere of a festival but I'm not sure I would wear it at any other times, which makes hesitate in ordering it. What do you think?

Please let me know your favourite item or send me any links to items I may have missed on the Motel Rocks website - this indecisive fashion victim needs help!!

A Floral Kimono

Vintage shirt (worn as a kimono) / Vintage top / Vintage Levi shorts / New Look shoes / eBay frilly socks / Topshop belt (old)
All vintage from Kilo Shop

I do love a kimono and I didn't get round to buying one last Spring/Summer so when I found this one in my shop, it was love at first sight. It is actually a shirt but I always wear it open like this and this is an outfit I wear all the time. I love the feel of the long, loose and light fabric of the kimono. This would also be a perfect festival outfit if the frilly ankle socks and sandals were replaced with knee high socks and wellies. Hurry up festival season!

Izzie x

Boho Chic

Vintage leather jacket / Vintage crochet jumper / Vintage Levi shorts / Doc Marten boots

I wish I had been able to shoot these photos in a meadow filled with long grass and wild flowers. Unfortunately, and unsurprisingly, Paris does not have such a hippy field so I went for a street setting. Isn't this leather jacket just too cool?! If I'm honest, I used to be a bit tassle-phobic but because of my friend Jess' hilarious obsession with them, I have grown to love them. Owning a tasselled leather jacket is fully committing to the cause and I love it.

The jacket goes perfectly with the boho vibe I'm channelling with the rest of the outfit. This crochet jumper is going to be great for summer evenings, thrown over the top of denim shorts like this. I was actually going to chuck out these shorts because they are way too big but I actually really like them as hipster baggy shorts rather than the usual high-waisted look. This is an outfit I can really see myself wearing at Glastonbury and yes I am already planning looks because it is always the highlight of my summer! Right I'm off to daydream about sitting in a muddy field, surrounded by the sound of amazing music and sipping on a cold Brothers cider...

Izzie x

Festival Outfit #3

Dungarees - vintage / Crop top - Motel / Shoes - Converse

Dungarees are one of the looks of the season. I got these last summer from my favourite vintage shop in Paris for just €10. (I will be doing a guide to vintage shopping in Paris soon!) They're comfortable, cute and bring out the inner child in all of us. However, I think they can be quite difficult to wear, so here are some tips.

With baggy dungarees like mine, the top worn underneath is important. I favour feminine tops over loose t-shirts and here, I have chosen a floral crop top, which stops the dungarees looking frumpy. Alternatively, lace is a great material for wearing underneath dungarees, like in this outfit that I wore constantly on my holidays last summer.

Dungarees are great for festivals and holidays because they are so versatile. Just add a cute vintage jumper underneath as the festival's evening chill arrives.

Do you have any tips for wearing dungarees?

Happy styling!

Festival Outfit #2

Top - Topshop (old) / Levi shorts - vintage / Belt - Topshop (old) / Shirt - Oxfam vintage / Wellies - Hunter

This is a classic and staple festival look. Both and shorts and top are so versatile that no girl should be going to a festival without them (or similar). These shorts also look great with a crop top if you feel like flashing some skin! I wish I could, but to honest, I always feel too self-conscious! This lovely floral shirt made from loose, thin material was bought at my first Glastonbury in 2008 and was a bargain for just £5. I bought it from the Oxfam Festival shop and I wore it all weekend. Male or female, you should have a festival shirt. This adaptable item can be worn either buttoned up with leggings or jeans or open as a light jacket when the sun predictably hides behind the clouds.

What do you think of this outfit?
