Heart Print Mini Skirt

I bought this super cute heart print mini skirt back in February and it has just been sitting patiently in my wardrobe ever since for temperatures to rise, the poor thing. Well spring (or even summer) has truly sprung here in Barcelona and in my eyes, getting your pins out is definitely acceptable. 

Due to the skirt's A-line shape and fun motif, I knew instantly that I wanted to create a sixties look. Naturally, I paired the skirt with a white polo neck t-shirt top and finished it off with my slouchy baker boy hat and trusty ankle boots. 

I absolutely love this skirt and I think it is going to be super wearable going through spring and into summer. It is easy and comfortable to wear during the day in the city but thanks to its wrap around style, it will be great to throw on to go to the beach - like a sassy sarong if you will.

J'ai acheté cette jupe super mignonne à motif cœurs en février donc ça fait deux mois qu'elle attend dans mon armoire pour que les températures augmentent, la pauvre. Heureusement, le printemps est assurément arrivé ici à Barcelone et maintenant j'ai aucun problème de porter des jupes sans collants.

Grâce à sa forme trapeze et son motif fun, je savais toute de suite que je voulais créer un look sixties avec cette jupe. Naturellement, je l'ai portée avec un t-shirt col roulé et j'ai fini le look avec ma casquette ample et des bottines.

Je kiffe cette jupe et je pense qu'elle va être super facile à porte pendant le printemps et l'été. Elle est confortable à porter pendant une journée dans la ville mais aussi à la plage parce qu'elle est du style sarong - un sarong branché, je veux dire!

Paris Fashion Week: Minimal in Motel Rocks

After a retro-inspired day one at Paris Fashion Week in my MOTEL ROCKS SEVENTIES SUIT, I went for a more minimal outfit on day two. I love the loose material and shape of this shirt dress which I paired with some comfy Vans for a welcome change to the structured suit and my rubbing Dr Martens from the day before. 

I shot these photos with the extremely talented Alice Lemarin, a French photographer in Paris with whom I have wanted to work for ages! These are not all of the photos she took - here I have used the ones that show off my outfit the best but Alice's specialty is playing with light and shadows to create really unique photographs so I'm saving them for another post!

Après un look inspiré du rétro pour la première journée de Fashion Week de Paris dans ma COSTUME 70S DE MOTEL ROCKS, j'ai choisi une tenue plus minimaliste pour le lendemain. J'aime trop le tissu ample et la forme de cette chemise robe avec qui j'ai mis mes Vans classiques. J'avais accueilli ce changement vers un look confortable après avoir porté une costume structurée et des chaussures Dr Martens le jour avant. 

J'ai fait ce shoot à Paris avec une photographe française super douée qui s'appelle Alice Lemarin avec qui ça fait longtemps que je voulais travailler. Celles-la ne sont pas toutes les photographes qu'elle a prises - voici des photos qui montre ma tenue le mieux - mais sa spécialité est de prendre des photos en jouant avec de la lumière et de l'ombre du coup je garde les autres pour un autre poste!

Paris Fashion Week: Motel Rocks seventies suit

I have always wanted a matching suit so this super sixties/seventies skirt and blazer combo from MOTEL ROCKS* seemed like the perfect way to kick off Paris Fashion Week. The pattern is just beautiful, original and very vintage-inspired, which is probably why I was so drawn to it in the first place. It's corduroy too, which is a must-have material for your wardrobe this season. In keeping with the sixties/seventies style, I wore a simple black high neck top underneath and modernised the look a bit with some Docs. 

Let's talk about sizing for a minute. I would advise sizing up for the blazer and maybe even sizing down for the skirt, but that's just me (hopefully I do not have an extremely unusual body shape and that this advice helps you guys). 

These photos were taken by super talent French blogger GISELE with whom I have collaborated before on her CHALLENGE 150 post. I loved her photos for our previous shoot so I just had to ask her to take some outfit photos for me whilst I was back in Paris for the weekend. 

Ça fait longtemps que je cherche une costume stylée, du coup quand j'ai vu cette tenue veste et jupe super années 60s/70s par MOTEL ROCKS*, je savais qu'elle serait parfaite pour commencer Fashion Week de Paris. Le motif est trop beau, original et inspiré de vintage ce qui est la raison pour laquelle je le kiffe trop, j'imagine. La costume est fabriquée en velours côtelé ce qui est un matière must-have dans votre placard cette saison. En gardant le style d'années 60s/70s, j'ai mis un top simple et noir avec un col haut et j'ai modernisé un peu le look en mettant mes chaussures Dr Martens. 

On parle de la taille maintenant. Je vous conseille de prendre une plus grande taille pour la veste et peut-être même une plus petite taille pour la jupe, mais cela c'est moi (j'espère que je n'ai pas une forme bizarre et que ces conseilles marchent pour vous aussi!). 

Pour ces photos, j'avais demandé à la bloggeuse française super douée, GISELE, à me prendre en photo. Nous avons déjà collaboré pour son blog pour sa série CHALLENGE 150 et j'avais trop aimé ses photos du coup il fallait faire des shoots avec elle quand j'étais à Paris pour le weekend.

Paris Fashion Week: The Preparations

I am so excited to head back to Paris on Wednesday for Fashion Week! Once again, I am the official PFW reporter for MOTEL ROCKS who have kindly provided me with some awesome garms, including this amazing corduroy blazer. In true Izzie style, I'll be rocking a mixture of looks including seventies vibes and minimalistic. Of course, I have left some bits to the last minute but preparations are well under way and here are some of the essentials that I will be packing for five days of fashion and fun in Paris. 

I'll be snapping the best street style outside venues, catching up with friends and collaborating with some awesome designers and photographers that I know from my time living there. It's going to be an awesome few days so make sure you keep up to date by following me on INSTAGRAM  and TWITTER. 

J'ai trop hâte de rentrer sur Paris ce mercredi pour Fashion Week! Encore une fois, je suis la bloggeuse officielle pour MOTEL ROCKS qui m'a donné avec gentillesse des fringues magnifiques à porter, comme cette veste en velours côtelé. Comme d'hab, je mettrai un mélange de looks, y compris des années 70s et un look minimaliste. Bien-sûr que j'ai laissé quelques préparations au dernier minute mais voilà quelques must-haves pour mes cinq jours de fashion et fun à Paris.

Je prendrai en photo les meilleurs street style, verrai des potes et collaborerai avec des stylistes et photographes que j'ai rencontré quand j'ai habité à Paris. Ce sera super alors suivez-moi sur INSTAGRAM et TWITTER pour toutes les nouvelles direct de Fashion Week!

Off The Radar

Hello, remember me? I'm sorry that I have been so off the radar of late - I have lots of blog posts planned but there has been a lot going on. Bad blogger, I know. I'm now on holiday for two weeks which is such a relief. I'm currently in Brittany for a few days with my family for lots of crepes, cider and mussels and then to Bristol - home home home!!! So, this radio silence might continue for the next week or so but you can keep up to date on my travel adventures on my Instagram. 

So onto this outfit. I was sent this awesome dress by Motel Rocks aggggges ago for some Paris Fashion Week reporting that I did for them. At the time I thought I'd asked for a size to big but during Paris' recent heatwave it is actually perfect, so sorry for not sharing this beauty beforehand (lucky for you, it is now in the sale).

PFW: Outfit One

For Saturday of Paris Fashion Week, I went for a sporty, casual look with my super slinky Motel Rocks black velvet unitard, Adidas Stan Smiths and a vintage suede bomber to add a touch of seventies. It was a great choice for running around the city taking street style snaps, looking for inspiration and checking out some young designers at WOMAN trade show (blog post to come). Pour samedi à Fashion Week de Paris, j'ai mis un look un peu sport et décontracté avec mon combinaison en velours noir de Motel Rocks, Adidas Stan Smiths et un bomber en daim vintage pour ajouter un peu des années 70s. C'était un bon choix pour courir dans Paris pour prendre des photos de street style, trouver des inspirations et regarder des collections de jeunes créateurs au salon WOMAN (article à suivre). Blue fur, new hair

It feels like ages since I have done an outfit post! I'm so happy to finally share this beautiful faux fur coat with you. I was going to wear it to Paris Fashion Week this weekend but apparently temperatures are going up, up, up hoorah! I love the pastel blue colour, texture of the fur and the oversized shape. It is such a unique coat that does all the talking for any outfit really so, I kept it simple with my ripped jeans and crochet jumper. Also what do you think of my new short hair? It's quite a change but I really like it!

I can't wait for this week of work to be over and get stuck into Paris Fashion Week! Over the weekend I'll be dashing between various catwalk venues, trade shows and showrooms to take street style photos and view collections. Once again, I am happy to announce that I am collaborating with one of my favourite brands, Motel Rocks, and reporting for them from PFW. Il me semble que ça fait longtemps que je n'ai pas fait d'un outfit! Je suis trop contente de vous montrer, enfin, cette belle fausse fourrure. J'allais la porter pour Fashion Week de Paris ce weekend mais apparemment les températures vont augmenter - OUAIS! Je kiffe sa couleur bleue pastel, la texture de sa fourrure et sa forme oversized. Il est un manteau tellement unique que ce n'est pas la peine de mettre un outfit flashy en-dessous du coup j'ai mis mon jean troué et un pull crochet tout simplement. De plus, vous pensez quoi de ma nouvelle coupe? Elle est courte mais je pense que j'aime bien!

J'ai hâte de finir cette semaine de travail pour que je puisse aller à Fashion Week de Paris! Ce weekend, j'irai entre plein de lieux de défilés, des salons et des showrooms pour prendre des photos de street style et regarder les collections. Encore un fois, je suis contente de vous dire que je collabore avec un de mes marques préférées, Motel Rocks, et je ferai les reportages de PFW pour eux. Clashing Leopard Print

Motel leopard coat (old - similar here)/ Topshop tartan leggings (old - similar here) / Topshop denim shirt (old) / Vintage crop jumper / Vintage platform shoes (similar here)

As promised in my last post, here I am attempting clashing prints, something which is quite out of my comfort zone. I actually really like this look because leopard and tartan are complete opposites. Leopard is a warm brown colour made up of a circular print whereas tartan is bold, strict and straight, which is why they work so well together. What do you think?

OH, and how aaaamazing are these 90s platform shoes! In love!

Comme j'avais promis dans ma dernière poste, voici je suis vachement hors de ma zone de confort en tentant des motifs dissonants ensemble! En fait, j'aime bien ce look parce que leopard et tartan sont complètement opposés. Leopard, c'est un motif circulaire dans une couleur chaude et marron tandis que tartan est vif, osé et carré et c'est la raison pour laquelle ils marchent bien ensemble. Qu'est-ce que vous pensez?

OH, et comme ces chaussures compensés des années 90s sont magnifiques! Je les kif!

Leopard and Monochrome

Faux fur is massive this season, the crazier the better, so I thought with the January chill it was time to bring out my gorgeous Motel leopard print fur. With such a statement print, you can dress it one of two ways and here I've gone for the monochrome/basics look, with my (now) trusty Monki jeans and super soft Primark cream jumper in my favourite high neck cut. The other look you can go for is just to throw loads of clashing prints together. This is more out of my comfort zone but I am going to give it a try for you guys soon!

La fausse fourrure est une tendance énorme cette saison, et elle est mieux plus colorée et plus folle. Du coup, ce janvier j'ai retrouvé mon beau manteau en fausse fourrure leopard. Avec ce motif audacieux, il y a deux choix de tenues et aujourd'hui, j'ai choisi le look monochrome/basic, avec mon jean noir et un pull crème et super doux qui a un col haut - mon favori! L'autre look est de mettre plein de motifs différents ensemble. C'est plus hors ma zone de confort mais je vais l'essayer pour vous bientôt!
