Red Sox

Vintage Red Sox t-shirt / Vintage skirt / Asos leather jacket (old) / Doc Martens shoes

Having a wardrobe crisis this morning, I grabbed Lewis' Red Sox tee and paired it with my cheerleader/tennis skirt and I love the result. This is me dabbling in the sports fashion trend, which I love but it is perhaps not naturally my style. So, I added my trusty Docs and leather jacket to toughen up the outfit. 

About two years ago I was doing a classic North American road trip with Lewis and as we were going to see the Red Sox we decided to hunt down some t-shirts in Boston's thrift stores. For now, my navy one is residing back in Bristol but I'm definitely going to pick it up when next back!

A Floral Kimono

I do love a kimono and I didn't get round to buying one last Spring/Summer so when I found this one in my shop, it was love at first sight. It is actually a shirt but I always wear it open like this and this is an outfit I wear all the time. I love the feel of the long, loose and light fabric of the kimono. This would also be a perfect festival outfit if the frilly ankle socks and sandals were replaced with knee high socks and wellies. Hurry up festival season!

J’aime bien un kimono et je n’en ai pas acheté le printemps/été dernier alors quand j’ai trouvé celui-ci dans le magasin où je travaille c’était un coup de foudre. En fait, il est une chemise mais je la mets toujours ouvert comme cela et c’est un look que je porte tous le temps. J’adore la matière légère, ample et longue du kimono. Ce serait un look parfait pour un festival si on remplace les socquettes à volants et les sandales avec des chaussettes mi-bas et des bottes de pluie. La saison de festivals, dépêchez-vous !

I'm currently lying in my bed still recovering from a super fun visit from three of my best friends from Uni over the weekend. I wore this fab jumpsuit out on Friday night for dinner and drinks with the girls. I've actually had this jumpsuit for a while but always felt that Paris might not be ready for it but turns out I just needed the reassurance of my English girls. 

I love the flared trousers, which is quite unusual these days and made me feel like I was dressed to go to a disco in the 70s. And what goes perfectly with flares? Platforms, and I just love my new platform gladiator sandals!

Monochrome and Brights

If you're going to wear cigarette trousers this season, they have to be patterned monochrome in my opinion. I picked up these Forever 21 babies in a vintage shop, of course. I've paired them with a simple black top and my bright Nikes, which, as I've said before, look great with a monochrome outfit.

A Slip Dress

So, what do you think of my new hair? I thought it was time to chop off the blond and go short for summer. I'm really pleased with it, except that admittedly it is a bit wonky because, in a bid to save money, I went to a trainee hairdresser who was just terrible - at least I know not to make that mistake again!

On to the outfit, I am all over slip dresses this season. I actually bought this little gem for €2 in winter at my shop and I have been dying to wear it ever since. And now this is my favourite outfit. I love the simple and casual cut of slip dresses and I love the not over bearing floral pattern on this one.

Alors, qu’est-ce vous pensez de ma nouvelle coupe ?! J’ai pensé que c’était le moment pour couper la blonde et avoir une coupe courte pour l’été ! Je l’aime bien sauf le fait qu’elle n’est pas complètement droite car, pour économiser d’argent, je suis allée à un coiffeur stagiaire qui était terrible ! Au moins que je sais que je n’irai jamais encore !

On parle de ce look. Je kif trop des robes à bretelles pour cette saison. En fait, j’ai acheté cette petite perle pour €2 en hiver chez Kilo Shop et depuis ce moment, j’avais envie de la porter. Maintenant, ce look est mon favori. J’aime bien la coupe simple et décontracté des robes à bretelles et je kif le motif fleuri modeste sur celle-là.

Denim and Fishnet

Today I'm rocking this casual 90s inspired outfit. I think this dress has already starred on the blog but it goes perfectly with the fishnet sleeves so I'm sure you guys don't mind! I bought this mesh top from a vintage shop for €2 and after a little DIY cutting here and there, it is ready for this winter to spring transition period.

Aujourd’hui, je porte ce look décontracté, inspiré par les années 90. Je pense que j’ai déjà mis un look avec cette robe sur le blog mais elle va parfaitement avec le haut résille et je suis sur que cela ne vous dérange pas ! J’ai acheté cette haute résille dans une friperie pour 2 € et après avoir le coupé un peu, il est prêt pour cette période de transition entre hiver et printemps !

Boho Chic

I wish I had been able to shoot these photos in a meadow filled with long grass and wild flowers. Unfortunately, and unsurprisingly, Paris does not have such a hippy field so I went for a street setting. Isn't this leather jacket just too cool?! If I'm honest, I used to be a bit tassle-phobic but because of my friend Jess' hilarious obsession with them, I have grown to love them. Owning a tasselled leather jacket is fully committing to the cause and I love it. 

The jacket goes perfectly with the boho vibe I'm channelling with the rest of the outfit. This crochet jumper is going to be great for summer evenings, thrown over the top of denim shorts like this. I was actually going to chuck out these shorts because they are way too big but I actually really like them as hipster baggy shorts rather than the usual high-waisted look. This is an outfit I can really see myself wearing at Glastonbury and yes I am already planning looks because it is always the highlight of my summer! Right I'm off to daydream about sitting in a muddy field, surrounded by the sound of amazing music and sipping on a cold Brothers cider...

Je souhaite qu’on ait pu prendre ces photos dans une prairie pleine de l’herbe longue et des fleurs sauvages. Malheureusement, et sans surprise, Paris n’a pas un quel champ hippy alors vous avez un cadre de rue. La veste en cuir est juste trop cool, non ?! Pour être complètement honnête, j’étais un peu ‘gland-phobique’ mais grâce à ma copine Jess qui a une obsession hilaire des glands, je suis devenue fan. En possédant une veste en cuir avec des glands, je suis dévouée à la tendance et je le kit !

La veste va parfaitement avec ce look hippy que je porte. Ce pull crochet sera super pour les soirées d’été, avec un short en jean comme j’ai mis. En fait, j’allais jeter ce short parce qu’il est beaucoup trop grand mais je l’aime bien comme cela, un peu baggy et de taille basse, au lieu du look classique de taille haut. C’est un look que je pourrais porter au festival Glastonbury, et oui je pense déjà aux looks que je mettrai car c’est toujours le temps fort de l’été pour moi ! Alors, je vais rêver d’être assise dans un champ boueux, entouré par le son de la musique magnifique et buvant un cidre froid…

Lewis and I have taken to going for stroll around a nice area whilst taking blog photos rather than just standing in my street, which can get a bit boring after a while. This why all these photos have different backgrounds and in my opinion this makes the photos more interesting, what do you think?

I love this rose floral shirt and I cannot get enough of shirts tucked into leather shorts. The coat, which I actually did not need because it was a glorious day, has a lovely A line shape, which is very Parisian. I also love its velvet collar, buttons and cuffs.

Lewis et moi avons commencé à se balader dans un beau quartier de Paris pendant qu’on prend des photos. Cela est plus intéressant qu’être debout dans ma rue pour les photos, qui peut devenir un peu ennuyeux. Cela est pourquoi chaque photo a un arrière-plan différent, que pensez-vous ?

J’aime bien ce chemisier en fleurs roses et je kif trop rentrer les chemises dans les shorts en cuir. En fait, je n’en avais pas besoin du manteau parce qu’il faisait beau, mais je l’adore comme même. Sa coupe en ligne A, qui est vachement parisienne, est géniale et j’aime bien aussi le col, les boutons et les poignets tous en velours.

Pastel colours are going to be a massive trend this Spring/Summer and I am completely on board. In fact I think it looks great wearing pastels at this time of year, as a sort of beckoning for Spring to come! This outfit features two pieces that I have been pining after for far too long. This Missguided fluffy jumper is just what I have been looking for and I am so happy to finally have found my perfect backpack!

Les couleurs pastels seront une tendance très importante pour la saison printemps/été cette année et je l’aime trop ! En fait, Je pense qu’il est génial de porter des couleurs pastel maintenant, comme un sort d’appel au printemps. On voit deux articles dans ce look pour lesquels je cherche depuis longtemps. Ce pull à poil de Missguided est exactement ce que je cherchais et je suis trop contente d’avoir trouver un sac à dos parfait, enfin !

Trainer Trend

Working in a vintage shop means that I am able to observe many different styles of the customers and therefore pick up on emerging trends. Over the past month I have seen many people wearing trainers with proper styled outfits. No, I am not talking about Converse or Vans but actual running trainers, the brands of choice being Nike and New Balance. The young, stylish and chic Parisians are pairing their usual black coloured outfits with bright multi-coloured trainers and I think it looks fab. It is a trend that has been seen on the catwalks recently, with the likes of Cara Delavigne sporting (geddit?!) couture trainers in Chanel’s Haute Courture show last month and Mark Fast putting his models in gold creeper trainers at London Fashion Week. It is a trend that I can definitely get on board with because I love being comfortable and stylish at the same time: it’s win win!

Comme je travaille dans une friperie, je vois des tendances émergentes en observant tous les styles différents des clients. Pendant le dernier mois, j’ai vu beaucoup de gens portant des baskets avec les looks stylés. Non, je ne parle pas de Converse ou Vans, mais les baskets pour faire du jogging et on choisit soit Nike soit New Balance. Les Parisiens jeunes, stylés et chic portent leurs looks noirs habituels avec les baskets vifs et multicolores et je le trouve géniale ! Elle est une tendance qu’on a vue sur les estrades récemment, car Cara Delavigne a porté des baskets coutures à la défilé d’haute couture de Chanel le mois dernier et Mark Fast a fait porter ses mannequins les baskets dorés et compensés à Fashion Week de Londres. J’aime bien être confortable et chic au même temps donc je peux surement soutenir cette tendance gagnante-gagnante!

Winter florals

After my last post exploring ways of doing outfit posts in the absence of a photographer, I came up with this idea - what do you think? I think it looks quite arty and interesting. You can tell that I'm slightly lusting for the coming Spring with this crop top and shorts combo but the colours are still very much Winter. I really loved the winter florals trend this season and these shorts are the perfect multi-seasons piece.
