Winter in a slip dress

At the weekend Lewis and I had a little trip to Berlin to see one of our favourite bands play, The Gaslight Anthem, and to do some exploring. It turned out that our Airbnb apartment came with two bikes, which was an amazing way of seeing the city and as I loved my cute baby blue one I thought I would feature it in some blog photos!

Slip dresses were my go-to piece this summer but I cannot bear to part with this one over winter so here is my way of styling them throughout colder months. Turtleneck jumpers are a wardrobe must-have this season, they are so versatile! I love the 90s look of layering mine under a slip dress for a bit of extra warmth. Then I just added some knee length socks and voilà! So remember, a slip dress is for life, not just for summer ;)

A great transitional outfit for this burst of nice weather we have been having in Paris. I love the masculine shape and cut of these suede culottes, which go perfectly with my bright kicks (and have you spotted I have matching nails too?!). One reason I will be sad to see summer go is that I will no longer be able to wear crochet, a style that I have fallen in love with this season.

After over a year of blogging, here is my first 'haul' post. I know, I am officially a fashion blogger now. I guess I haven't really done this kind of post before because I'm quite careful with money, despite being a complete fashion victim. 

I've stored up some Topshop Gift Cards from the last couple of Christmases so this haul didn't cost me a penny! Most fashion lovers reading this will be screaming at the computer "HOW THE HELL DIDN'T YOU SPEND THEM ALREADY?!" Well, to tell the truth, I just hadn't found anything I liked or thought worth the money until now. 

I've been looking for a simple comfy jumpsuit for ages and this one fits the bill, plus I am obsessed with little straps so I love this feature. Then, I needed some crops for summer and Topshop is perfect for cheap basics. I love Topshop's sock range and I knew I was going to get some more frilly ones and then I saw these tassel ones and fell in love - how amazing are they?! And to top it off I treated myself to an old 90s tattoo choker, which I've been wanting for ages.

Hey Gang, sorry I haven't posted in a while! Between my boyfriend (AKA photographer) being away and then my mum coming to visit I just haven't been able to blog. But I am back and have some posts lined up!

Isn't this denim Skort just the best thing ever? I picked it up in the shop where I work (obviously) and it's my favourite item of the moment. I feel so 90s when I wear it with these platforms sandals or my Doc Martens. I'm also obsessed with mini strappy tops at the moment so paired my Skort my this cute thing from my recent Topshop haul (what?!).

Monochrome and Brights

If you're going to wear cigarette trousers this season, they have to be patterned monochrome in my opinion. I picked up these Forever 21 babies in a vintage shop, of course. I've paired them with a simple black top and my bright Nikes, which, as I've said before, look great with a monochrome outfit.

Pastel colours are going to be a massive trend this Spring/Summer and I am completely on board. In fact I think it looks great wearing pastels at this time of year, as a sort of beckoning for Spring to come! This outfit features two pieces that I have been pining after for far too long. This Missguided fluffy jumper is just what I have been looking for and I am so happy to finally have found my perfect backpack!

Les couleurs pastels seront une tendance très importante pour la saison printemps/été cette année et je l’aime trop ! En fait, Je pense qu’il est génial de porter des couleurs pastel maintenant, comme un sort d’appel au printemps. On voit deux articles dans ce look pour lesquels je cherche depuis longtemps. Ce pull à poil de Missguided est exactement ce que je cherchais et je suis trop contente d’avoir trouver un sac à dos parfait, enfin !

Trainer Trend

Working in a vintage shop means that I am able to observe many different styles of the customers and therefore pick up on emerging trends. Over the past month I have seen many people wearing trainers with proper styled outfits. No, I am not talking about Converse or Vans but actual running trainers, the brands of choice being Nike and New Balance. The young, stylish and chic Parisians are pairing their usual black coloured outfits with bright multi-coloured trainers and I think it looks fab. It is a trend that has been seen on the catwalks recently, with the likes of Cara Delavigne sporting (geddit?!) couture trainers in Chanel’s Haute Courture show last month and Mark Fast putting his models in gold creeper trainers at London Fashion Week. It is a trend that I can definitely get on board with because I love being comfortable and stylish at the same time: it’s win win!

Comme je travaille dans une friperie, je vois des tendances émergentes en observant tous les styles différents des clients. Pendant le dernier mois, j’ai vu beaucoup de gens portant des baskets avec les looks stylés. Non, je ne parle pas de Converse ou Vans, mais les baskets pour faire du jogging et on choisit soit Nike soit New Balance. Les Parisiens jeunes, stylés et chic portent leurs looks noirs habituels avec les baskets vifs et multicolores et je le trouve géniale ! Elle est une tendance qu’on a vue sur les estrades récemment, car Cara Delavigne a porté des baskets coutures à la défilé d’haute couture de Chanel le mois dernier et Mark Fast a fait porter ses mannequins les baskets dorés et compensés à Fashion Week de Londres. J’aime bien être confortable et chic au même temps donc je peux surement soutenir cette tendance gagnante-gagnante!

Spots forever

I haven't done an outfit post for ages so here we go! I've had this dress for years as I bought it when I was last living in Paris during my degree but I think it's pretty timeless: spots never go out of fashion. I've paired this dress with my American Apparel disco leggings, which makes for a very comfortable outfit. Cela fait un moment que je n’ai pas fait un exemple du look, alors voilà ! J’ai cette robe depuis longtemps car je l’ai achetée quand j’habitais à Paris la dernière fois, pendant que je faisais ma licence. Je crois qu’elle est intemporelle : les pois ne se démodent jamais. Je porte mes leggings discos d’American Apparel avec cette robe pour un look très confortable ! Bargain Hunting

I have had quite a successful haul this week! First of all these fab shoes arrived from Asos. I am currently obsessed with Doc Martens and have decided to invest in a pair of the boots this winter but cannot justify buying the shoes too - too much money! So, I have settled with these great look-a-like ones from Asos, which were in the sale for just £22.50 - perfect for a bargain hunter like me! I picked up this bomber jacket from a local vintage shop. I love its retro print and oversized-ness! and it is perfect for autumn. 

I also went to a flea market at the weekend, which is one of my favourite things to do. I love having a rummage, searching for bargains and imagining what furniture and trinkets I would pick out if I had my own house to decorate. I found some cute gloves with fur cuffs for just £4, as well as this great gold necklace, which was less of a bargain at £16 but I just could not resist!

Punk Rocker

I went for a punk look today for work. I just started interning 2 days a week at Motel Rocks in Bristol and I am loving it. So far I have been writing blog posts and updating their social media channels. Finally something fashion based is happening career-wise!

Punk is definitely a trend to watch for AW13 with the 90s grunge fashion of earlier this year not looking to go away any time soon. I always wanted to be a punk (to an extent…). I love tartan, the colours black and red, chunky shoes and converse and dark eye make up. I’m not sure I would go as far as wearing dog collars and safety pins through my ears (my mum actually did this in the 70s!). I love these tartan leggings, which I paired with a simple loose white tee because, to be honest, the leggings speak for themselves. As you can see, I found it difficult choosing which shoes to wear with the outfit so I thought I’d show you all my punky options.
